Man Kills Cougar with Machete after Animal Attacks His Dog

Now this is what we call quick thinking.

During a recent trip to Canada, a man jumped into action when a cougar began attacking his dog.

As seen in the video, he used a machete to get the cougar away from his pet, and succeeds.

Unfortunately, both the cougar and the dog succumbed to their injuries. Wildlife officials who investigated the incident said the cougar was extremely malnourished, most likely due to festering porcupine quills in its paws, and would have likely been only days away from death regardless of the outcome of the attack.
